2014 FIFA World Cup
Football is the most popular sport in Brazil. The 2014 World cup finals will be played there in June and July. The opening match pits Brazil against Croatia on Thursday 12th June. The final will be played on the 13th July. Brazil are the Favourites to win the tournament this year. Click on the link below to see some of current players. Using the world Cup as a stimulus the children will find out about the host cities including where they are; local teams; tourist attractions; famous people; industry. The children can work in groups and report the information they have found out to the rest of the class.
